Almost 20 years ago owner/operator Angelo came to America as a young boy to visit America. This is when he first realized his dream. His dream was to have an authentic Italian restaurant in the heart of Little Italy, bringing with him his Sicilian roots. Angelo was born in Palermo Sicily. He learned about life and most importantly how to cook from his grandfather. There was three virtues to success that his grandfather instilled in him in order to have a successful Italian restaurant in America. First, he said always have a spectacularly clean restaurant. Second, only use the very best quality of food and ingredients in your cooking and lastly, ALWAYS treat your customers like they are family.

Angelo’s first restaurant was in Palermo and it was a thriving business for 15 years. Until he could no longer avoid and hide from his dream of coming to New York’s Little Italy and fulfilling his dream of opening Grand Appetito. Grand Appetito is a one of a kind Italian Eatery. That instills Angelo’s grandfather’s three keys to success, and is one of the only establishments to exclusively use homemade fresh mozzarella. Angelo’s mozzarella is made daily on site.
